About the programme
Ages: 11–19 (up to 25 for learners with SEND) Duration: 4 Weeks
Location: At YBS, Catford or your school/organisation Class size: Up to 10 students per group
Skills to Entrepreneur is a focused, four-week outreach programme designed to introduce young people to one in-demand beauty skill such as nails, brows, makeup, or hairstyling through creative, hands-on learning. Delivered by industry professionals, this programme helps students who may be disengaged or at risk of exclusion re-engage with education in a meaningful and practical way.
Whether delivered at YBS or directly in your school, the programme offers a fresh approach to alternative provision that inspires confidence, creativity, and curiosity about the world of work.
Provides vocational engagement through real-world beauty therapy skills
Supports positive behaviour through structure, focus, and creativity
Builds confidence, self-worth, and a sense of achievement
Creates an alternative educational route for students who may not thrive in mainstream settings
Encourages early thinking about progression pathways such as further education, apprenticeships, or enterprise
Students complete the programme with an accredited YBS Certificate of Completion
Development of one beauty skill aligned with industry techniques
Exposure to personal enterprise concepts and future career planning
Enhanced motivation and improved classroom readiness for core subjects
